Orhan Yavuz born in Afyon in 1924, graduated from Istanbul Technical University, Civil Engineering Department in 1949.

He served in General Directorate of Highways until 1953 and then continued his business life as contractor and realized many infrastructure projects in different regions of the country such as highways, railroads, airports, liquid fuel lines and facilities.

In 1967, he entered industial sector by founding a company named Umran Steel Pipe, Inc.

Orhan Yavuz is among the founders of INTES (Turkish Employers Association of Construction Industries), Afyon Education Foundation, Atatürk Foundation and Tema Foundation and is also the founder of the Technical Education Foundation bearing his name.

He is honorary member of Turkish Red Crescent and is actively supporting many social aid and development projects.

In 2008, he has been awarded "Honorary PhD" title by Istanbul Technical University for his contributions to the profession.

Social Responsibility

OYTEV - Orhan Yavuz Technical Education Foundation

It was established in 2007 by Engineer Orhan Yavuz, founder of ORYA HOLDING. The purpose of the foundation is to support mainly education and training, research and activities in health, culture, art and science areas aiming to increase the civilization level of the society.

In line with this purpose, scholarships are given to students with insufficient financial status and social aids are given to the schools with a need. Also, translation and printing activities are supported in cooperation with ITU and academicians distinguished with their scientific work are awarded.

OYTEV is evaluated by the Council of Ministers in "Foundations Beneficial to Society" status.
